Benedict XVI’s Message to the United States

“I Am Coming, Sent by Jesus Christ, to Bring You His Word of Life”

VATICAN CITY, APRIL 8, 2008 (Zenit.org).- Here is the text of the video-message that Benedict XVI sent to the people of the United States on the occasion of his imminent visit to Washington, D.C., and New York. His visit will take place April 15-20.

* * *

Dear Brothers and Sisters in the United States of America,

The grace and peace of God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ be with all of you! In just a few days from now, I shall begin my apostolic visit to your beloved country. Before setting off, I would like to offer you a heartfelt greeting and an invitation to prayer. As you know, I shall only be able to visit two cities: Washington and New York. The intention behind my visit, though, is to reach out spiritually to all Catholics in the United States. At the same time, I earnestly hope that my presence among you will be seen as a fraternal gesture towards every ecclesial community, and a sign of friendship for members of other religious traditions and all men and women of good will. The risen Lord entrusted the Apostles and the Church with his Gospel of love and peace, and his intention in doing so was that the message should be passed on to all peoples.

At this point I should like to add some words of thanks, because I am conscious that many people have been working hard for a long time, both in Church circles and in the public services, to prepare for my journey. I am especially grateful to all who have been praying for the success of the visit, since prayer is the most important element of all. Dear friends, I say this because I am convinced that without the power of prayer, without that intimate union with the Lord, our human endeavours would achieve very little. Indeed this is what our faith teaches us. It is God who saves us, he saves the world, and all of history. He is the Shepherd of his people. I am coming, sent by Jesus Christ, to bring you his word of life.

Together with your Bishops, I have chosen as the theme of my journey three simple but essential words: “Christ our hope”. Following in the footsteps of my venerable predecessors, Paul VI and John Paul II, I shall come to United States of America as Pope for the first time, to proclaim this great truth: Jesus Christ is hope for men and women of every language, race, culture and social condition. Yes, Christ is the face of God present among us. Through him, our lives reach fullness, and together, both as individuals and peoples, we can become a family united by fraternal love, according to the eternal plan of God the Father. I know how deeply rooted this Gospel message is in your country. I am coming to share it with you, in a series of celebrations and gatherings. I shall also bring the message of Christian hope to the great Assembly of the United Nations, to the representatives of all the peoples of the world.

Indeed, the world has greater need of hope than ever: hope for peace, for justice, and for freedom, but this hope can never be fulfilled without obedience to the law of God, which Christ brought to fulfillment in the commandment to love one another. Do to others as you would have them do to you, and avoid doing what you would not want them to do. This “golden rule” is given in the Bible, but it is valid for all people, including non-believers. It is the law written on the human heart; on this we can all agree, so that when we come to address other matters we can do so in a positive and constructive manner for the entire human community.

[The Pope continued in Spanish]

I direct a cordial greeting to Spanish-speaking Catholics and manifest my spiritual closeness, in particular to the youth, the ill, the elderly and those who are in moments of difficulty of feel themselves in need. I express my heartfelt desire to be with you soon in this beloved nation. In the meantime, I encourage you to pray intensely for the pastoral fruits of my imminent apostolic trip and to keep high the flame of hope in the resurrected Christ.

[Translation by ZENIT]

Dear brothers and sisters, dear friends in the United States, I am very much looking forward to being with you. I want you to know that, even if my itinerary is short, with just a few engagements, my heart is close to all of you, especially to the sick, the weak, and the lonely. I thank you once again for your prayerful support of my mission. I reach out to every one of you with affection, and I invoke upon you the maternal protection of the Blessed Virgin Mary.

Que la Virgen María les acompañe y proteja. Que Dios les bendiga. [May the Virgen Mary accompany and protect you. May God bless you.]

May God bless you all.

FORD FOUNDATION STRIKES AGAIN

Wealthy Foundations Encouraged to Target Religious Groups to Push for Abortion

April 3, 2008
Volume 11, Number 16

By Samantha Singson

(NEW YORK — C-FAM) A two-year old report has come to light that encourages foundations to fund religious organizations who agree to push the abortion agenda around the world. The report which was funded by the wealthy MacArthur and Ford Foundations, catalogues hundreds of religiously affiliated non-government organizations that are likely to include “sexual and reproductive health and rights” as part of their work.

“Religion and Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights: An Inventory of Organization, Scholars and Foundations,” issued by the Center for Health and Social Policy, argues that the world’s religions play an undeniable role in shaping attitudes toward “reproduction and sexuality” and can “be an important ally in the effort to advance sexual and reproductive health and rights (or, conversely, a key obstacle).”

The report encourages foundations who are “striving to improve women’s health and rights (including sexual and reproductive health and rights) to incorporate religion in their grant-making,” as religions “have the power to influence government policy” both through the political process and through the religious belief of the policymakers.

The authors propose a three-pronged approach to increase interest in the intersection of religion and abortion. First, foundations could provide incentives to American groups already working in the field so that they could collaborate with developing country organizations. Second, foundations could engage both religious and secular scholars to study the topic in depth. But the most promising tactic, according the study’s authors, is to provide incentives to organizations working on religion and women’s rights or health to move to address religion and sexuality and reproduction directly.

The 216-page report is mostly a listing of organizations which might be induced through grant money to work at the intersection of religion and abortion. Organizations from across the globe affiliated with all the major world religions are included. Also listed is a long list of influential pro-abortion groups including the Alan Guttmacher Institute, International Planned Parenthood Federation (IPPF), the International Women’s Health Coalition, Population Action International, Catholics For a Free Choice (in particular its Latin American affiliates), the Pro-Choice Religious Network, the Religious Coalition for Reproductive Choice and the Women’s Environment and Development Organization (WEDO).  Other big names include Amnesty International, Human Rights Watch and the World YWCA.

Apart from listing organizations that might qualify as grant recipients, the report also highlights sixteen foundations which have financially supported sexual and reproductive health and rights programs in the past. Six of the sixteen foundations specifically mention abortion as a priority area. According to the report, the capital assets of the foundations listed total more than $35 billion and approximately $500 million is given away in grant money each year.

Pro-Abortion Law Firm Calls on UN Committees to Pressure States on Abortion
March 27, 2008
Volume 11, Number 15

By Samantha Singson

(NEW YORK — C-FAM) The Center for Reproductive Rights (CRR) just released a new and updated version of their “signature” document that uses the non-binding recommendations of UN committees to argue that sovereign nations must legalize abortion as part of their international legal obligations.  “Bringing Rights to Bear ” claims that these recommendations reflect “the growing recognition among these UN bodies that reproductive rights are firmly grounded in international human rights treaties.”

For years, CRR has been at the forefront of a what some have called a “stealth strategy” to redefine longstanding human rights like the right to life, the right to privacy and the right to be free from discrimination and insert abortion rights into those broad provisions.  An integral component of the CRR strategy is to get the UN committees that oversee nations’ compliance with their treaty obligations to reinterpret the treaties to include abortion.  UN compliance committees contain a large percentage of personnel from pro-abortion groups and have become increasingly active in reinterpreting UN documents and pressuring governments to follow their interpretations.

“Bringing Rights to Bear” catalogues the successes of the CRR strategy and cites numerous examples of UN committees calling for legalized abortion and widespread access to contraception.  Unlike the treaties themselves, the recommendations of the treaty monitoring bodies are non-binding, but the CRR paper argues that these non-binding recommendations must be used to “guide governments and advocates in further promoting human rights,” including abortion.  CRR calls for using these non-binding committee recommendations “to support legal challenges in national, regional, and international human rights institutions.”

The CRR document urges the UN committees to continue to “emphasize that abortion should be a safe and legal option for women in the case of an unwanted pregnancy, even where there is a disproportionate reliance on abortion due to the limited availability of contraceptive methods.”  The document also urges the committees to issue detailed directions to tell states “how to overcome barriers to [contraceptive] access, such as lack of availability to certain methods, legal restrictions on contraception, excessive regulation (including requirements for third-party authorization), cost, lack of or inadequate insurance coverage, and coercion in the reproductive health context.”

Even though CRR and its allies call for these reinterpretations, in fact only the most recent UN human rights treaty, on the rights of persons with disabilities, mentions “sexual and reproductive health,” and only with the strict understanding that the term does not include abortion. The left wing group Human Rights Watch notes that since 1995 there have been over 100 instances where the UN committees have pressed over 65 nations to legalize or increase access to abortion. Recently, though, some governments have begun to push back at the committees and stand up for their pro-life laws.

CRR is one of the most influential abortion advocacy groups at the United Nations and works worldwide to mount legal challenges to abortion laws.  CRR’s “expert litigation committee” and board of advisors include three UN special rapporteurs, as well as the former head of the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), Nafis Sadik.

The CRR will release briefing papers on maternal mortality as well as marriage and private life as part of its revised “Bringing Rights To Bear” series.

A PAKISTANI WOMAN RESPONSIBLE OF PUSHING THE UN TO ENFORCE ALL NATIONS IN THE WORLD TO ADOPT ABORTION

Dear Dr Nafis – kill your own Pakistani unborn, the Maltese are not yours to slay.

“Pregnancy is a part of a woman’s life but a woman’s life should not be defined by it. In many societies, however, the fact is that bearing and raising children does define a woman. She does many things in her life, but she is only given recognition for one of them.” – Nafis Sadik, 1998

Although a national of Pakistan, Nafis Sadik is truly a citizen of the world. She has spent a lifetime working on the politically charged and non-glamorous issues of global population control and women’s health, issues which at first glance some may consider irrelevant to their daily lives. However, a closer look at the statistics reveals the gravity of the situation and how it affects our world. The high rate of population growth, the suffering of millions of women in developing countries due to the lack of proper healthcare facilities, and lack of awareness of individual rights are all issues which demand immediate remediation.

For her efforts to raise awareness of these issues and developing or effecting policies, Nafis Sadik has received awards from governments and organizations in many countries including Pakistan, China, Indonesia, Egypt and the United States. When she accepted the post of Executive Director of the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) in 1987, she became one of the highest ranking women in the UN and the first women ever to serve as an executive head of one of the UN’s major voluntarily funded programs. Echoing the sentiments of many others, at the Hague International Forum in 1999, Hillary Rodham Clinton said of Nafis Sadik, “I believe that the world owes her a debt of gratitude for all she has done over the years to place women at the very center of development.”

Nafis Sadik received her Doctorate of Medicine from Dow Medical College in Karachi, Pakistan. She did her internship in gynecology and obstetrics at City Hospital in Baltimore, and completed further studies at John Hopkins University. After serving as a research fellow at Queens University in Ontario, Canada, Nafis returned to work in Pakistan. From 1954 to 1963, she worked as a civilian doctor in Pakistani military hospitals.

The suffering she witnessed working in Pakistani hospitals early in her career set the course of the rest of her professional life. Her work reveals her commitment to reducing this suffering and doing what she could to raise public awareness of it. Since the beginning of her career, Nafis made it a point to educate her patients about the choices they had available to reduce the number of unwanted pregnancies. She advised both the women and their husbands on family planning issues and contraceptive methods against the will of her superiors who, at the time, considered these highly controversial topics.

She has repeatedly spoken about the adverse effects of having children at a very young age when she is “physically, intellectually, and emotionally underdeveloped.” According to Nafis, early pregnancies most often occur in areas where women grow up “without proper nourishment or healthcare or the education that will allow them to take care of themselves.”

In 1964, Nafis was appointed to head the health section of the Pakistan governments’ Planning Commission. The following year Pakistan’s first population policy was developed, primarily authored by Nafis Sadik. Later she served as the Deputy Director General and then Director General of the Pakistan Central Planning Council. (Inter Press Service International Achievement Award, United Nations, New York, 11 December 2000, REMARKS BY AMBASSADOR PENNY A. WENSLEY)

Nafis Sadik was first invited to join the UNFPA in 1971. Since then she served there in different capacities until retiring from the post of Executive Director in 2000. One of her major achievements was the International Conference on Population and Development (ICPD), held in Cairo in 1994. Nafis served as the Secretary-General of the conference which was attended by representatives from more than 180 countries. Population and development, women’s health, and gender equality emerged as focus topics at the conference. ICPD resulted in a 20-year Programme of Action dealing with women’s health, global population control and development. The conference has been considered a landmark achievement.

In a speech at the World Bank on World Health Day 1998, Nafis Sadik said, “Pregnancy is a part of a woman’s life but a woman’s life should not be defined by it. In many societies, however, the fact is that bearing and raising children does define a woman. She does many things in her life, but she is only given recognition for one of them.” Stressing the importance of the variety of roles women play in society, Nafis Sadik said, “When women are properly valued for all the things they do, then and only then, will their role as mothers be respected and the resources found to protect their lives and health.”

In a different speech in at an event in New York to mark the 50th anniversary of Pakistan, Nafis Sadik relayed the impact of population growth on Pakistani economy:

“At independence, Pakistan was the 13th most populous country in the world, with 32.5 million people; in 1996 it was seventh, with a population of 140 million. Pakistan’s population growth rate is now one of the highest in Asia at 2.7 percent: at independence we added a million people every year or so; today we are adding a million every three months. No conceivable development plan can sustain such a rate of population growth. If we are to meet the challenges of the 21st century, Pakistan must put slowing population growth at the head of its list of priorities.”

Speaking of Nafis Sadik’s early experience of working in Pakistani hospitals, the Australian ambassador remarked, “Many of the women she treated [there] simply accepted that the hard work, poor health, frequent pregnancies and a high risk of death in childbirth are women’s fate. They did not know or believe they had a choice.”

Nafis Sadik has written extensively on women’s health, family planning, and population and development. She has received honorary doctorate degrees from multiple universities in the US, including Brown, Duke, John Hopkins, as well as universities from Canada, Japan, and Jamaica.

Top Scientist Advocates Mass Culling 90% Of Human Population

Fellow professors and scientists applause and roar approval at elite’s twisted and genocidal population control agenda

Paul Joseph Watson & Alex Jones/Prison Planet.com | April 3 2006

A top scientist gave a speech to the Texas Academy of Science last month in which he advocated the need to exterminate 90% of the population through the airborne ebola virus. Dr. Eric R. Pianka’s chilling comments, and their enthusiastic reception again underscore the elite’s agenda to enact horrifying measures of population control.

Pianka’s speech was ordered to be kept off the record before it began as cameras were turned away and hundreds of students, scientists and professors sat in attendance.

Saying the public was not ready to hear the information presented, Pianka began by exclaiming, “We’re no better than bacteria!”, as he jumped into a doomsday malthusian rant about overpopulation destroying the earth.

Standing in front of a slide of human skulls, Pianka gleefully advocated airborne ebola as his preferred method of exterminating the necessary 90% of humans, choosing it over AIDS because of its faster kill period. Ebola victims suffer the most tortuous deaths imaginable as the virus kills by liquefying the internal organs. The body literally dissolves as the victim writhes in pain bleeding from every orifice.

Pianka then cited the Peak Oil fraud as another reason to initiate global genocide. “And the fossil fuels are running out,” he said, “so I think we may have to cut back to two billion, which would be about one-third as many people.”

Later, the scientist welcomed the potential devastation of bird flu and spoke glowingly of China’s enforced one child policy, before zestfully commenting, “We need to sterilize everybody on the Earth.”

At the end of Pianka’s speech the audience erupted not to a chorus of boos and hisses but to a raucous reception of applause and cheers as audience members clammered to get close to the scientist to ask him follow up questions. Pianka was later presented with a distinguished scientist award by the Academy. Pianka is no crackpot. He has given lectures to prestigious universities worldwide.

One horrified observer was able to make notes on the speech and our gratitude goes to Forrest M. Mims for bringing this sickening display to the attention of the world.

Throughout history elites have invented justification for barbaric practices as a cover for their true agenda of absolute power and control over populations. Up until the 19th century, the transatlantic slave trade was justified by saying that the practice was biblical and therefore morally redeemable in nature, despite the fact that no such bible passage exists.

From 1932 until 1972, the Tuskegee Study Group (pictured below) deliberately infected poor black communities in Alabama with syphilis without their consent and withheld treatment as the diseased rampaged through the town killing families.

In 1951 the Israeli government used US government provided technology to irradiate 100,000 Jewish children in a mass atomic experiment with an entire generation of Sephardi youths used as guinea pigs. 6,000 died immediately after the experiments and the rest suffered for the rest of their lives with debilitating illnesses and cancer.

Pianka’s doomsday warning of the population bomb, for which Mims claims he presented no evidence whatsoever, is complete pseudo-science. Populations in developed countries are declining and only in third world countries is it expanding dramatically. Industrialization itself levels out population trends and even despite this world population models routinely show that the earth’s population will level out at 9 billion in 2050 and slowly decline after that. “The population of the most developed countries will remain virtually unchanged at 1.2 billion until 2050,” states a United Nations report. Conservation International’s own study revealed that 46% of the earth’s surface was an untouched wilderness, that is land areas not including sea. It is commonly accepted that the entire world population could all fit into the state of Texas and each have an acre of their own land.

Think about the magnitude of Pianka’s statements. He wants to kill nine out of every ten members of your family and he wants to kill them in one of the most painful and agonizing ways imaginable.

If Pianka, or ‘The Lizard Man’ as he likes to be called, is so vehement in the necessity of culling the human population will he step forward to be the first one in line? Will he sacrifice his children for the so-called greater good of the planet? We somehow doubt it.

Will the students who so enthusiastically greeted his ideas go home and kill themselves for the cause if it is so righteous?

It was noted how Pianka presented his argument with the kind of glee that you would see in a demented serial killer before dispatching his victim. This is an attitude we have encountered again and again. To discuss killing 90% of the world’s population via a horrific plague is sick enough within itself but you would at least expect its advocates to be serious and sober in their approach to the subject. The opposite seems to be the case, where the subject is aired in a context of lighthearted lip-smacking and hand-rubbing as if the individual was about to sink his teeth into a T-bone steak.

This window gives us a clear view of exactly why these deranged bastards encompass this ideology. They love death and their lives are motivated by dark influences very different to you or I.

Pianka’s approval of how the Chinese police state effectively controlled their population tells us that this rhetoric is just the glue that holds together the true agenda of the elite. A staged bio-attack blamed on terrorists could be the perfect cover for enacting the program of population reduction and the usurpation of our remaining freedoms.

In the 21st century the elite are concerned that from over 6 billion people might spring a new elite to challenge their stranglehold on the reigns of power. This is one reason for desire to cull the population down to a manageable level. Another is control over the behavior of the existing serfs and herding them like cattle into the slaughter house.

As we have documented, members of the elite are quite open in their feverish lust to commit mass murder and ethnic cleansing. In the foreword to his biography If I Were An Animal, Prince Philip wrote, “In the event that I am reincarnated, I would like to return as a deadly virus, in order to contribute something to solve overpopulation.”

National Security Memo 200, dated April 24, 1974, and titled “Implications of world wide population growth for U.S. security & overseas interests,” says:

“Dr. Henry Kissinger proposed in his memorandum to the NSC that “depopulation should be the highest priority of U.S. foreign policy towards the Third World.” He quoted reasons of national security, and because `(t)he U.S. economy will require large and increasing amounts of minerals from abroad, especially from less-developed countries … Wherever a lessening of population can increase the prospects for such stability, population policy becomes relevant to resources, supplies and to the economic interests of U.S.”

Kissinger prepared a depopulation manifesto for President Jimmy Carter called ‘Global 2000′ which detailed using food as a weapon to depopulate the third world.

One of the most chilling admissions of deadly intent came from the lips of the late Jacques Cousteau, the sainted environmental icon. In an interview with the UNESCO Courier for November 1991 the famed oceanographer said:

“The damage people cause to the planet is a function of demographics — it is equal to the degree of development. One American burdens the earth much more than twenty Bangaladeshes. The damage is directly linked to consumption. Our society is turning toward more and needless consumption. It is a vicious circle that I compare to cancer….”

“This is a terrible thing to say. In order to stabilize world population, we must eliminate 350,000 people per day. It is a horrible thing to say, but it’s just as bad not to say it.”

The Melbourne Age reported on recently uncovered documents detailing Nobel Peace Prize winning microbiologist Sir Macfarlane Burnet’s plan to help the Australian government develop biological weapons for use against Indonesia and other “overpopulated” countries of South-East Asia.

Pianka’s ideology is in the same league as Hitler, Pol Pot, and the rest of history’s despots who advocated mass extermination and had the temerity to dress it up in a ‘noble’ Straussian facade. We demand that he be investigated for openly calling for mass murder and in the meantime we encourage everyone to click here and e mail Pianka, enabling him to receive your feedback about his wish that you and your entire family die

The Great Global Warming Swindle

A DVD of the film, The Great Global Warming Swindle, will be available from mid July (despite the strenuous efforts of those who support the theory of global warming to prevent its release). The DVD is an expanded and improved version of the film broadcast in the UK on Channel Four. More interview material has been added, covering a broader range of subjects than was possible in the broadcast film.

However, we urge those interested in hearing the case against the theory of man made global warming to dig deeper. The main purpose of this site is to point people towards key scientific papers, books and other relevant material.

We have received literally thousands of emails from scientists and others expressing their support and encouragement. These emails are also often very useful, steering us towards new studies in different areas. Please keep sending them.

The email address is: gw@wagtv.com

The general reaction to the film has been overwhelming and enormously encouraging. As Channel Four reported in Broadcast magazine, they received a record number of phone calls following the first transmission. They calculated that the calls were 6 to 1 in support of the film.

It would be nice to claim that the explosion of interest was due to the film itself, but the fuss started even before the film was broadcast. The reason, we suspect, is that the coverage of ‘global warming’, on TV, radio and in the press, has been so one-sided and uncritical. In Britain, hours and hours of programmes have been broadcast by the BBC on the subject, much of it scientifically absurd. The very fact that a science documentary dared to challenge the orthodoxy was itself news.

Why? Why have journalists been so craven or biased? How has a theory which demonstrably lacks really solid supporting evidence become an indisputable fact? What of the impressive, much talked about scientific ‘consensus’ which is used to forestall any awkward questions about the evidence?

The film made a humble stab at suggesting some possible answers, but there was limited space for these bigger questions. The whole global warming alarm, we believe, raises serious issues about the way science functions in the real world, about the political bias of scientists, about censorship within the scientific community itself, about the routine practice of scientists drawing false or inflated conclusions from ambiguous or uncertain data, about the manifest failure of the peer review process, about the extraordinary unwillingness of scientists who have invested time and reputation in a particular theory to consider evidence which directly contradicts it, about the elevation of speculation (models) to the level of solid data, and much else besides.

Science and scientists cannot always rise above the prejudices of their class and of their age. The selection and handling of evidence often reflects these prejudices. The most highly qualified and respected scientists can be blind to obvious deficiencies in a theory, and will be dismissive of evidence when it undermines what they want to believe.

But the scare over man made global warming may prove to be the first great example in the modern Western world, when science was betrayed by scientists themselves

This web-site is still young, and the people running it are doing so in their spare time (when they really should be making television programmes). So apologies for its shortcomings.

The makers of the documentary The Great Global Warming Swindle have made many science documentaries before. The thing they found most shocking when they started to make this one, was the weakness of the case for man made global warming, and the quantity and quality of the evidence which flatly contradicts it.

Global warming hysteria serves as excuse for world government
If world government is to be achieved by consent, the world must be sold on the idea of world government and its necessity

Daniel Taylor
Wednesday, March 14, 2007

Proponents of a system of world government and the tyrannical measures that accompany it have seized upon the popular issue of global warming to advance long existing plans for global governance. World government has been the desire of power hungry organizations and the individuals running them for many years. The Bilderberg Group, CFR, Trilateral Commission, and their think tanks like the Club of Rome are all such organizations. Council on Foreign Relations member James Paul Warburg, who was the son of Paul Moritz Warburg, a prominent banker, stated before the Senate Foreign Relations Committee in 1950 that, “We shall have world government whether or not you like it — by conquest or consent.”

Terrorism, economics, and global warming are all reasons given by proponents of world government as evidence of the necessity for a new world order. If world government is to be achieved by consent, as Mr. Warburg put it, then the world must be sold on the idea of world government and its necessity.

In a report titled “The First Global Revolution” (1991) published by the Club of Rome, a globalist think tank, we find the following statement: “In searching for a new enemy to unite us, we came up with the idea that pollution, the threat of global warming, water shortages, famine and the like would fit the bill…. All these dangers are caused by human intervention… The real enemy, then, is humanity itself.”

In the past, the Club of Rome has resorted to deceptive tactics in order to support their plans. In 1972, the Club of Rome, along with an MIT team released a report called “Limits to growth.” The report stated that we were to reach an environmental holocaust by the year 2000 due to overpopulation and other environmental problems. Support for their conclusions was gathered by results from a computer model. Aurelio Peccei, one of the founders of the Club of Rome, later confessed that the computer program had been written to give the desired results.

Today, global warming and climate change in general have become foundational issues for one of the largest political movements of our time. As more focus is placed on global warming, the solutions which are being presented to the world often have nothing to do with what many are saying is the root cause of the problem. Scientific evidence has emerged, highlighted in the documentary “The Great Global Warming Swindle,” which supports the theory that the sun is in fact a major driving force behind global warming. Ice core samples show that CO2 levels (which are blamed by many to be the initiating force behind a rise in global temperature) rise 800 years after an initial rise in temperature. Other data gathered regarding solar activity show a clear connection between fluctuations in the sun’s activity and temperature variations on earth. If the sun is in fact the culprit for changes in the earth’s temperature, world taxes, global government and other solutions we are being given are not cutting to the root cause of climate change.

In response to the conventional explanation of global warming, several calls have been made by various individuals to create a system of world government, and put into place rigid controls over the lives of millions across the world.

Richard Haass, the current president of the Council on Foreign Relations, stated in his article “State sovereignty must be altered in globalized era,” that a system of world government must be created and sovereignty eliminated in order to fight global warming, as well as terrorism. “Moreover, states must be prepared to cede some sovereignty to world bodies if the international system is to function,” says Haass. “Globalization thus implies that sovereignty is not only becoming weaker in reality, but that it needs to become weaker. States would be wise to weaken sovereignty in order to protect themselves…”

Gordon Brown, the potential future Prime Minister of the UK, stated recently that a ‘new world order’ must be created in order to combat global warming.

Dr. Eric R. Pianka, a professor at the University of Texas who has a following of dedicated environmentalists, made startling comments regarding population reduction to a group of students and other scientists in April of 2006. Because of the negative effects of overpopulation on the earth, Pianka proposed that the Ebola virus be used as a tool of population reduction. Pianka also praised China’s one child policy, saying that, “China was able to turn the corner and become the leading world super power because they have a police state and they are able to force people to stop re-producing.”

Everyone, regardless of your position on global warming or the environment, must take into consideration the solutions that we are being given, as well as the forces behind them which seek to create a global system of domination and control.

 bln global bank losses: report

Saturday March 29, 10:18 am ET

FRANKFURT (Reuters) – The financial market crisis could cause losses of up to $600 billion at banks and other financial institutions worldwide, a German magazine reported on Saturday, citing an internal report by German financial watchdog BaFin.

The $600 billion figure represents a worst-case scenario for losses linked to the financial turmoil sparked by the meltdown in the U.S. subprime mortgage market, Der Spiegel magazine said in a story released in advance of publication on Monday.

“Based on current knowledge and the market situation, we believe $430 billion is more likely,” the magazine quoted what it said was a 16-page report by BaFin as saying.

BaFin calculated that banks had already acknowledged about $295 billion in losses, of which Germany accounted for around 10 percent, the magazine said.

Extrapolating from this percentage, German banks could suffer $60 billion in losses in the worst case and $43 billion in the more favorable scenario, the magazine added.

However, the magazine also said BaFin cited the risk that the financial crisis could spread beyond the banking sector to affect hedge funds, insurance companies, pension funds and even some non-financial companies.

A BaFin spokeswoman declined to comment on the Spiegel report but said the watchdog had prepared a discussion paper ahead of a two-day meeting of financial regulators and central bankers in Rome that ended on Saturday.

A figure of around $300 billion for losses reported to date came from publicly available sources, she said.

German mass-circulation Bild newspaper reported on Friday that German banks could face as much as 70 billion euros ($110 billion) in writedowns on their investments as a result of the credit crisis, citing “speculation by banking insiders” for the report.

A spokesman for Germany’s Finance Ministry on Friday also said worldwide losses so far were about $300 billion but said he was not aware of the 70 billion euro figure mentioned in Bild.

Germany’s big listed banks such as Deutsche Bank (XETRA:DBKGN.DENews), Commerzbank (XETRA:CBKG.DENews) and Deutsche Postbank (XETRA:DPBGN.DENews) have largely escaped the huge subprime-related writedowns seen at some international rivals.

However, the country’s state-sector banks have been hit hard, with two of their number nearly collapsing after billions of euros in risky investments turned bad.

CURRY: You don’t agree with that? It has nothing do with the economy, the war — spending on the war?

BUSH: I don’t think so. I think actually the spending in the war might help with jobs…because we’re buying equipment, and people are working. I think this economy is down because we built too many houses and the economy’s adjusting.

Some Americans believe that they feel they’re carrying the burden because of this economy.

G. BUSH: Yeah, well…

CURRY: They say we’re suffering because of this.

“National Unity” Jingoism: Bosses Profit, Workers Pay

Repression, Recession and War

U.S. Hands Off Afghanistan, Iraq!

Defend Immigrants Against Racist Witchhunt!

Unchain Labor/Black Power!

For Class Struggle! For a Workers Party!

Reprinted from Workers Vanguard No. 765, 28 September 2001.

SEPTEMBER 25-The hijacked airliners that slammed into the World Trade Center on September 11 have changed not simply the landscape of lower Manhattan but the political landscape of the world. Upwards of 6,000 people are dead, most buried in the still smoldering ashes of the rubble. The New York Stock Exchange took its biggest weekly drop since the Great Depression of the 1930s, losing over a trillion dollars. A wounded, dangerous and nuclear-armed U.S. imperialism has dispatched four aircraft carriers, 30 warships, at least one nuclear submarine, 15,000 troops and hundreds of warplanes to the Persian Gulf. And that is only the beginning. The most immediate target is Afghanistan’s Taliban government. Yet these same Islamic fundamentalist forces were armed and bankrolled by the U.S. to fight the Soviet Army, whose intervention into Afghanistan in 1979 offered the prospect of bringing progress to that hideously backward country. At home, the rulers have seized the opportunity to tighten the screws of state repression on the working people, the ghetto masses, desperate and increasingly besieged immigrants and anyone else they perceive as getting in their way.

The attack on the World Trade Center took place a decade, almost to the day, after the ascendancy of the forces of counterrevolution in the former Soviet Union, who were also backed by U.S. imperialism. However bureaucratically deformed and undermined by the nationalist rule of a privileged, parasitic Stalinist bureaucracy, the Soviet Union was a workers state; as such it stood as a counterweight to the boundless ambitions of the American empire. With the counterrevolutionary destruction of the USSR, the U.S. rulers boasted of being the “world’s only superpower” as they ran roughshod over the rest of the world, leaving a trail of untold misery, devastation and death in their wake-from Iraq to Sudan to the Balkans. The intensity of hatred, humiliation and desperation the American imperialists have inspired among tens if not hundreds of millions of people around the globe was brought home in blood and fire as two airplanes full of civilian passengers crashed into the Twin Towers, while a third hit the Pentagon and another went down while headed toward the Washington, D.C. area.

In a 12 September statement by the Political Bureau of the Spartacist League/U.S. titled “The World Trade Center Attack” (WV No. 764, 14 September), we wrote: “Those who perpetrated this horrific attack (and there is no evidence at all as to who that was) embrace the same mentality as the racist rulers of America-identifying the working masses with their capitalist exploiters and oppressors!” But this attack, however criminal from the vantage point of the working class and oppressed, doesn’t hold a candle to what the U.S. imperialists are now preparing to perpetrate against their enemies-internationally and at home.

In a 13 September statement, Radio Havana condemned “the most astonishing act of terrorism in history against what has been for Cuba an implacable enemy for 40 years.” The 1959 Cuban Revolution overthrew the Batista regime of henchmen for U.S. imperialism, leading in 1960-61 to the expropriation of the capitalists and the establishment of a workers state, albeit bureaucratically deformed and nationally limited by its own Stalinist-style bureaucracy. Ever since, Cuba has been the target of the CIA’s own terrorist network. Counterrevolutionary Cuban gusanos have perpetrated countless bombings, acts of sabotage and airline hijackings. This terror, the U.S. military bastion at Guantánamo Bay and the 40-year-long starvation blockade are all aimed at recapturing Cuba for imperialist exploitation. As the Radio Havana statement warned:

“The most powerful nation on earth has been put on a war footing and history has taught us all what to expect when Washington starts waving the cudgel self-righteously. The families of almost a million Japanese, four million Koreans, three million Vietnamese, and thousands of Iraqis and Yugoslavians can all attest to what occurs when the Oval Office scrambles its bombers.”

The ruling parties-Republicans and Democrats-with the fawning assistance of their media lackeys are fanning the flames of a patriotic fervor not seen since the bombing of Pearl Harbor. They seek to line up the population behind their military aims abroad and to further chain the working class at home to the interests of the capitalist exploiters. From the halls of Congress to the talking heads on television, they rail against the barbarity of Islamic fundamentalism, fomenting a wave of chauvinist terror against Muslims, people of Near Eastern descent, as well as Sikhs, other South Asians and dark-skinned Latinos. Not so long ago, the American bourgeoisie heralded the Islamic reactionaries as “freedom fighters” in the war against the Soviet “evil empire.”

When Soviet troops first moved into Afghanistan, we wrote in an article headlined “Hail Red Army!” (WV No. 247, 11 January 1980):

“The imperialist media pulled out the stops to build sympathy for ‘freedom fighters’ battling sophisticated tanks and planes with sticks, stones and chants of ‘allah akbar.’ But in the military confrontation pitting the Soviet soldiers, backing the nationalist People’s Democratic Party of Afghanistan (PDPA) against feudal and pre-feudal forces aided by imperialism, Marxists side with the Russian tanks.”

When the Kremlin Stalinists criminally withdrew Soviet military forces in 1989, the Partisan Defense Committee, the legal and social defense organization associated with the SL/U.S., wrote to the PDPA government offering “to organize an international brigade to fight to the death” against the forces of Islamic reaction. When the Afghan government instead appealed for financial aid, the PDC launched an international fund drive to aid Afghanistan’s beleaguered women, workers and leftists. Today we call on the working class to fight in opposition to the war moves of U.S. imperialism, which only strengthen a state that has perpetrated untold terror and war and a ruling class loading its arsenal of state repression with ammunition aimed directly at you.

Patriotic Hoopla-
Profits for Bosses, Terror for Immigrants, Blacks

“Flying while Arab” may be the new expression for harassment, intimidation and terror at the hands of the state, but the racial profiling which is now the order of the day will overwhelmingly target black people. Two years ago, New York City erupted in sustained and massive protest following the killing of black African immigrant Amadou Diallo, who was cut down in a hail of 41 bullets by a band of cops. Now, in an article titled “Diallo, Terrorism and Safety vs. Liberty” (New York Times, 13 September), columnist Clyde Haberman opines: “In the name of law and order, how much license do we give the police to stop and question citizens whose sole ‘crime’ is to have been standing on the street or, as in the Diallo case, in the vestibules of their apartment buildings?… It is quite possible that America will have to decide, and fairly soon, how much license it wants to give law enforcement.” That question is already being decided by the powers that be, who are ratcheting up state repression while the media boosts the murderous and viciously racist NYPD as “heroes.”

The purpose of the patriotic hoopla being whipped up by the bourgeoisie is to convince the working class that it must sacrifice its wages, living and working conditions, jobs and rights for the “defense of the nation.” Before the hijacked airliners were ever commandeered to destroy the World Trade Center, the economy was already on a nosedive into recession. In some ways, the attack was its own “gift from god” for the American bourgeoisie, which is using it to bolster its profits and imperialist interests.

The population was encouraged to invest in the stock market as a demonstration of patriotism. But as Paul Krugman noted in an op-ed piece in the New York Times (23 September): “Anyone who patriotically purchased stocks got caught up in a market plunge that wiped out more than $1 trillion in wealth, while short-selling hedge fund managers who didn’t let sentimentality get in the way of business did very well, thank you.” And we’re not talking about Osama bin Laden selling short, but the American bourgeoisie, whose only “patriotic” commitment is to its bottom line.

Airline companies got bailed out to the tune of $15 billion (with Delta Airlines realizing four times the amount it had lost). Over 100,000 airline workers are being handed pink slips. Evidently thinking it unseemly, the Bush administration has temporarily shelved its proposal to cut capital gains taxes for the rich as a way to “jump-start” the economy. But they have milked some $40 billion from Social Security to get Wall Street up and running-and the warships and bombers moving. In New York City, transit workers and other public employees were outraged to learn that, in addition, some $800 million of their pension funds were being dumped into the collapsing stock market “to help shore up the economy” (Daily News, 21 September).

As V.I. Lenin, whose Bolshevik Party led the working class of the former tsarist empire to power in the first and only successful workers revolution in history, wrote in explaining the revolutionary program and strategy of Marxism:

“People have always been the foolish victims of deception and self-deception in politics, and they always will be until they have learnt to seek out the interests of some class or other behind all moral, religious, political and social phrases, declarations and promises. Champions of reforms and improvements will always be fooled by the defenders of the old order until they realize that every old institution, however barbarous and rotten it may appear to be, is kept going by the forces of certain ruling classes. And there is only one way of smashing the resistance of those classes, and that is to find, in the very society which surrounds us, the forces which can-and, owing to their social position, must-constitute the power capable of sweeping away the old and creating the new, and to enlighten and organise those forces for the struggle.”

- “The Three Sources and Three Component Parts of Marxism” (March, 1913)

Hundreds of workers from New York City and beyond volunteered their labor, skills and lives in the monumental effort to rescue anyone they could from the burning ruins of the World Trade Center. In this one could see not only the spirit of self-sacrifice but the collective social power and organization of the working class. The parasitic rulers who live off the exploitation of this labor did not and could not have displayed such sacrifice and skill. For them the central purpose was simply to clear away enough rubble to reopen the stock exchange, using patriotism to rouse working people to rebuild the citadel of American imperialist exploitation. At the same time, star-spangled jingoism is used to divide and weaken the proletariat, directing anger against Arab and Muslim immigrants.

In the U.S., the raw exploitation of those who labor has always been furthered through playing on racial and ethnic divisions. If the social power of the proletariat is to be organized to create a new world-a society in which the tremendous wealth of this country is deployed for the benefit of those who created it-it must be mobilized in defense of immigrant rights, for the cause of black freedom and to champion the rights of all the oppressed against this entire capitalist system. But that is a question of leadership.

The day after the World Trade Center attack, AFL-CIO president John Sweeney intoned: “America is a democratic and open society built upon universal values of freedom and human dignity. No act of terror will undermine those values. No sacrifice is too great for Americans to defend those values.” And so the union bureaucrats play their designated role as the labor lieutenants of the capitalist rulers, policing the unions to ensure the flow of profits to the bosses. To maintain the ties through which they shackle the working people to their exploiters, the trade-union tops have long boosted the Democratic Party as the “friend of labor” alternative to the Republicans. But the reality that the Democrats and Republicans are simply the twin faces of the one property party in this country was put baldly by Democratic Senate leader Tom Daschle. In a statement eerily reminiscent of that of Kaiser Wilhelm on the eve of World War I-”I no longer know parties, I know only Germans”-Daschle declared, “There is no difference in our aim. We are resolved to work together, not as Democrats or Republicans, but as Americans.”

The only road forward for the proletariat is the road of class war against the capitalist class. In the course of class struggle, it is our purpose to train, educate and steel the cadres of the multiracial workers party that, in the words of Leon Trotsky, can lead “a great revolutionary mass movement…that will leave no remnant of the entire structure of class exploitation, national oppression, and racial persecution.”

Tightening the Screws of Repression

“America may have to give up the post-Vietnam illusion that it is possible to fight wars with few casualties. Our success in the Persian Gulf and even our limited achievements in the Balkans created the illusion that American military technology is sophisticated enough to be used in combat without putting soldiers in harm’s way. But what we have actually been enjoying is an extended string of luck. Last week, the message came through loud and clear that luck can run out.”

To regiment the population behind the defense of imperialist interests, the rulers are tightening the screws of state repression. Attorney General John Ashcroft, an open defender of the Confederate slavocracy and Civil War “Southern patriots like Lee, Jackson and Davis,” is aiming to push a package of sweeping assaults on civil liberties through a pliant Congress in the coming days.

The proposed new laws would extend practices currently widely used in foreign intelligence surveillance-largely carried out in secrecy and without court warrants-to domestic “terrorism” cases and all criminal investigations. The government’s ability to conduct secret searches would be vastly expanded. Restrictions on wiretapping and Internet monitoring would be virtually eliminated, and the government wants access to all private computer encryption keys. Evoking the World War II incarceration of Japanese Americans in concentration camps, Ashcroft has sought the power to hold non-citizens (including permanent residents) deemed a possible “danger to national security” in indefinite detention.

Last week, the New York State legislature rushed through a law making membership and even financial support to any organization deemed “terrorist” a felony. Under Ashcroft’s proposal, non-citizens could be deported for providing financial support for the lawful activities of a “terrorist” organization-including retroactively! For example, a permanent resident of the U.S. who gave money to the African National Congress-which currently heads the South African capitalist government-when it was fighting apartheid in the 1980s could be rounded up and deported.

As German Communist playwright Bertolt Brecht once quipped: “Would it not be easier in that case for the government to dissolve the people and elect another?” The proposed legislation aimed at the civil rights of the population is the expression of the fear and loathing the U.S. government has for “the people.” The Constitution of this country was originally meant to apply to white male Protestant freeholders-that was what was behind the definition of a “citizen.” As that definition was expanded to include broader layers of the population, the rights of the citizen were correspondingly diminished. The extension of the right to bear arms, for example, has led to its increasing erosion through gun control measures. Against the liberal proponents of gun control, we would point out that had some of the passengers or crew on those airliners been armed, there might not have been any (successful) hijackings.

Don’t hold your breath waiting for the pusillanimous liberals of the American Civil Liberties Union, who only seem to get animated over defending the fascist terrorists of the Ku Klux Klan, to come to your defense. In a 20 September press release, the ACLU declared: “We pledge to work with our national leaders in their fight to bring those responsible for this tragedy to justice. And we believe that our nation can, as it has during other times of national emergency, reconcile the requirements of security with the demands of liberty.”

The only rights to which the bourgeoisie is unalterably committed are those which enforce its class rule-the right to hold private property, to own the means of production, to employ wage labor. For the working people and oppressed, even those democratic rights nominally guaranteed under the Constitution can only be secured through social struggle and are eminently reversible under capitalism.

Immigrant Rights, Black Rights Go Hand in Hand

The frenzy of anti-Arab and anti-immigrant chauvinism is a deadly danger to all racial minorities, especially the black population whose forcible concentration at the bottom of this society is rooted in the very foundations of the American capitalist system. Speaking about the racist mob that laid siege to a mosque outside Chicago, black radio commentator Cliff Kelley warned, “When those white youths were protesting against Arab Americans in Bridgeview, they were not just aiming their attacks against Arabs. They were also carrying Confederate flags. They’re against us, too. This is becoming a race war and Bush is helping to push it” (Chicago Defender, 18 September).

But it’s not just Bush. For years, black Democratic politicos and pseudo-nationalist “community leaders” have played into the capitalists’ schemes to pit one sector of the oppressed against another, fomenting chauvinism against Arab, Latino and Korean immigrants in a competition for scarce jobs and government programs. Jesse Jackson, who often waxes rhetorical about the multiethnic American “rainbow,” lauded the “anti-terrorist” roundups that help fuel the chauvinist hysteria, praising the Feds for “being able to penetrate the intelligence network” and prevent “further bombings to this date” (Chicago Defender, 17 September). Jackson’s self-defined role is to serve as a “soft cop” for racist U.S. imperialism; thus he now urges Bush to “use intelligence, not war.” It’s precisely in the name of “intelligence” that the government is gearing up a vast machinery of repression against immigrants, blacks and all its perceived opponents.

To her credit, black Oakland Congresswoman Barbara Lee, a protégé of former liberal Congressman Ron Dellums, registered the sole vote against the resolution giving Bush a blank check for war. For his part, Nation of Islam leader Louis Farrakhan, calling America “the greatest nation on this earth,” rushed to “agree with President Bush that there must be an appropriate response to this wicked attack, but anger and wounded pride should not and must not determine what that appropriate response should be” (Chicago Defender, 19 September). Two days earlier, the Defender ran the headline, “Victory Abroad and Victory at Home,” evoking the “Double V for Victory” line pushed by the NAACP during World War II to enlist black people in the interimperialist slaughter. But victory abroad meant the U.S. boot on the neocolonial peoples and the maintenance of Jim Crow terror at home.

While the petty-bourgeois black misleaders rally ’round the flag, many of those at the bottom don’t buy into the patriotic mobilization, knowing that they will be among its targets. But they are far from powerless. Black workers are a strategic component of the U.S. proletariat. Nor are immigrants, who have been increasingly prominent in union struggles, simply defenseless victims. But to wield the power that labor has as the producers of the wealth of society requires, above all, a break with the Democratic Party and the forging of a revolutionary workers party that fights for all the oppressed. The road to black freedom lies in the overthrow of racist American capitalism through socialist revolution. For class-struggle defense of immigrant rights-No deportations! Full citizenship rights for all immigrants! Black liberation through socialist revolution!

Economic Recession, Imperialist Rivalry

The current international crisis directly intersects a long-standing source of conflict between American and European capitalists: the economics of world oil. The world oil cartel is dominated by giant American companies like Exxon-Mobil. Although the Netherlands and Britain (Royal Dutch Shell, British Petroleum) are also major players, this is not the case for Germany and France, the core EU powers. Hence every dollar increase in the world market price of oil not only enriches an important sector of corporate America but also increases the energy costs of French and German capitalists. This is what lay behind the clash between the EU and U.S. over the defunct Kyoto “global warming” agreement, whose (nominal) caps on energy use would have affected the U.S. most directly.

The wars against Iraq in 1991 and Serbia in 1999 resulted in a permanent U.S. or U.S.-led NATO military presence in the Persian Gulf/Near East and the Balkans. Now, Washington aims to extend its military reach particularly into the former Soviet Central Asian republics of Tajikistan, Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan, where U.S. energy companies have already invested billions of dollars to tap fabulous oil and natural gas reserves. Not surprisingly, Washington’s plans have provoked sharp fears in Russia which, while in no position to challenge the U.S. right now, still has a huge nuclear arsenal and its own regional imperial ambitions. Existing conflicts among the major capitalist powers will only deepen as the world recession deepens. The drumbeat for national chauvinism by all the imperialist bourgeoisies is aimed at preparing their “own” working people to accept drastic cuts in living standards and to serve as cannon fodder in the resulting wars.

Seeking to secure the support of Muslim countries-including supposed “terrorist states” like Syria and Iran-for its “coalition against terrorism,” Washington has finally moved to put its Israeli junior partners on a short leash. The Zionist butchers seized on the World Trade Center attack to escalate their bloody raids into towns nominally controlled by Yasir Arafat’s Palestinian Authority, killing 28 people in one week (on top of the more than 600 already murdered by Israeli troops and their fascistic “settler” auxiliaries in the past year). Under intense pressure from the U.S., Sharon finally agreed to a “cease-fire,” while still refusing to follow through. Meanwhile, the ever-pliant Arafat has ordered his security forces not to shoot back “even when under fire from Israeli forces” (Al-Ahram Weekly, 20 September). We say: Defend the Palestinian people! All Israeli troops and settlers out of the Occupied Territories!

To buy the compliance of Pakistan, the Taliban’s chief patron, the U.S. pushed through a $2.5 billion IMF loan this week and dropped sanctions imposed after a nuclear weapons test three years ago. Similar sanctions against India were also dropped. With Pakistan erupting in fundamentalist mobilizations, a New York Times (15 September) editorial worried, “Any American victories in Afghanistan would quickly turn into a catastrophic defeat if the war there turned Pakistan, with its 142 million people and nuclear weapons, into an Islamic fundamentalist state.” The American bourgeoisie thinks it can rule the roost in any part of the world with a big stick and a bit of carrot. But far from imposing a stable “New World Order,” from the Near East to the Balkans to South Asia, U.S. intervention serves only to stoke national antagonisms and regional wars.

Whatever countries Washington chooses to target in the coming months, its strategic goal remains the smashing of those remaining countries where capitalism was overthrown, the bureaucratically deformed workers states of China, Cuba, Vietnam and North Korea. Trotskyists fight for the unconditional military defense of the deformed workers states against imperialism and internal counterrevolution. The nationalist Stalinist bureaucracies that undermine the defense of those states and the collectivized economy on which they are based must be ousted through proletarian political revolutions.

Unlike Cuba, China has offered its support to the U.S. “war against terrorism,” urging only that Washington not act unilaterally but under the auspices of the UN. The Chinese Stalinist bureaucracy is intent on encouraging imperialist investment as it forges ahead with pro-capitalist “market reforms.” Meanwhile, Beijing has its own version of bin Laden’s Islamic fundamentalists to deal with, as well as the CIA-sponsored “Free Tibet” rabble under the “god-king” Dalai Lama. While the Bush administration currently seeks to enlist Beijing’s diplomatic support, it is moving full steam ahead with plans for a “national missile defense”-with a green light last week from Congressional Democrats. The chief aim, ultimately, of this “Star Wars II” project is to facilitate a nuclear first strike against China.

Reformists Plead for “Peaceful” Imperialism

“The exposure of the thoroughly reactionary, putrefied and robber nature of modern capitalism, the destruction of democracy, reformism and pacifism, the urgent and burning need of the proletariat to find a safe path away from imminent disaster put the international revolution on the agenda with renewed force….

“Not to bind itself to the national state in time of war, to follow not the war map but the map of the class struggle, is possible only for that party that has already declared irreconcilable war on the national state in time of peace…. A real break with the ideology and policy of ‘national defense’ is possible only from the standpoint of the international proletarian revolution.”

Wedded to the illusion that the capitalist nation-state can be reformed to serve the interests of workers and the oppressed, the reformist left adapts to the bourgeoisies of their respective countries. In West Europe, this takes the predominant form of anti-Americanism and support for the social democrats who today administer many of the imperialist states. In the U.S., groups like the social-democratic International Socialist Organization (ISO) and the Stalinoid Workers World Party (WWP) capitulate to the prevailing climate of “national unity,” throwing themselves into vigils aimed at appealing to the government to adopt “peaceful” means to combat “terrorism.”

On September 20, thousands of students turned out for rallies at nearly 150 campuses across the country, many of them looking for answers to the government’s war hysteria. In the past few years, large numbers of youth have taken to the streets in protests against “globalization” and the ravages inflicted by American “multinational” corporations on poor people in the “Third World,” especially slave-labor sweatshop conditions. Viewing the working class as just one more oppressed and victimized sector of the population, these youth see no road other than that of trying to pressure the American government-whether through lobbying or “street fighting”-to adopt “kinder, gentler” policies at home and globally. Our comrades have intervened at such protests to win radicalized youth to the Marxist understanding that the threat of war is a direct product of a system based on capitalist/imperialist exploitation, and that the proletariat is the one class in society with the social power and historic interest to bring that system down and organize a just, socialist society.

For their part, the reformists pander to the liberal illusions prevalent among such youth. Their message is essentially: “War won’t stop terrorism, give peace a chance.” In New York City, the ISO has formed “People for Peace,” whose “Mission Statement” appeals for “solidarity as a nation” and calls for “bringing the people responsible for the attacks to legal justice without using violence as a form of punishment.” WWP’s International Action Center is the driving force behind a coalition that calls on “people of conscience” to rally at the White House on September 29 to say that “war is not the answer.”

The ISO is a quintessential weathervane of liberal “public opinion,” defined by social-democratic anti-Communism from its inception as a tendency during the first Cold War. In the 1980s, the ISO-and virtually every other reformist group-avidly embraced the “human rights” anti-Sovietism of the imperialist rulers, cheering on the CIA’s mujahedin cutthroats in Afghanistan. In 1999, the ISO and other fake-socialist groups embraced the cause of “poor little Kosovo,” the banner under which the U.S. led NATO in a war that laid waste to Serbia.

At bottom, groups like the ISO and WWP accept the liberal notion that imperialism is just a policy, and that the capitalists can be pressured to pursue other, more “humane” and “peaceful” policies. Progressive Labor Party (PL) rightly declares: “During imperialist war, communists must lead workers against their ruling class” (Challenge, 3 October). But PL capitulates to the imperialist rulers in its own way. PL equates small or semicolonial capitalist countries-like Serbia or Iraq-with imperialist powers like the U.S. Thus PL spits on the Leninist obligation to defend against imperialist attack those countries exploited by the handful of capitalist countries that control the world economy.

War is the continuation of politics by other means. In Imperialism, the Highest Stage of Capitalism (1916), Lenin stressed that imperialist capitalism is marked by the concentration and domination of finance capital, the pre-eminence of the export of capital and competition among the advanced capitalist countries to control markets and spheres of influence. In opposition to the theory of a peaceful “ultra-imperialism” advanced by German Social Democrat Karl Kautsky, Lenin wrote:

“The only conceivable basis under capitalism for the division of spheres of influence, interests, colonies, etc., is a calculation of the strength of those participating, their general economic, financial, military strength, etc. And the strength of these participants in the division does not change to an equal degree, for the even development of different undertakings, trusts, branches of industry, or countries is impossible under capitalism….

“Therefore, in the realities of the capitalist system, and not in the banal philistine fantasies of English parsons, or of the German ‘Marxist’ Kautsky, ‘inter-imperialist’ or ‘ultra-imperialist’ alliances, no matter what form they may assume, whether of one imperialist coalition against another, or of a general alliance embracing all the imperialist powers, are inevitably nothing more than a ‘truce’ in periods between wars.”

Imperialist war is but the concentrated expression of the “normal” brutal workings of the capitalist system, which daily condemns countless numbers of people around the world to death by malnutrition, lack of medical care and industrial “accidents.” The threat to obliterate “rogue states” is of a piece with the use of the U.S.-dominated International Monetary Fund to impose misery and starvation on the workers of Southeast Asia, Mexico and elsewhere in order to keep interest payments flowing into the coffers of Chase Manhattan and Citicorp.

Socialism or Barbarism

The current war buildup presages full-scale wars in the future, ultimately encompassing all the imperialist powers and posing the spectre of a nuclear conflagration. The men who rule this country are not rational, because the capitalist system they preside over is irrational. Only world socialist revolution can save mankind from a barbaric outcome. As we say in the Programmatic Statement of the Spartacist League/U.S.:

“American ‘democracy’ has been purchased through brutal exploitation of the colonial and semicolonial masses around the world, generally through imposition of murderous anti-labor dictatorial regimes. America is ruled by the dictatorship of a single class, the bourgeoisie, alternately administered by the Democrats and Republicans, two wings of the same property party. The façade of democracy is designed simply to obscure the fact that the capitalist state is an instrument of organized force and violence-consisting at its core of the police, army, courts and prisons-for maintaining capitalist property and profits through the suppression of the working class and the oppressed and fending off foreign challenges. The proletariat cannot lay hold of this state machinery and use it for its own purposes, but must smash the bourgeois state and establish a workers state, laying the basis for the abolition of classes in an international communist world. Our task, in the bastion of world imperialism, is to build the multiracial revolutionary workers party, section of a reforged Fourth International, which will lead the proletariat in the overthrow of the American capitalist order, the expropriation of the bourgeoisie as a class and the establishment of a planned socialist economy.”

The fact that an ideological Islamic Jihad is lacking is a good point however the main issue is Palestine, can there be peace in Israel and Palestine or should the world’s minority of occult elite cause Albert Pike’s dream of a WWIII to come about ?? Jihadists put down your weapons you are being used by the world’s minority of occult elite. Unless obviously you are being sponsored by them!!!

Special Dispatch – Jihad & Terrorism Studies Project
March 4, 2008
No. 1859Release of New Book by Ayman Al-Zawahiri, in Response to Sayyed Imam:
A Treatise Exonerating the Nation of the Pen and the Sword from the
Blemish of the Accusation of Weakness and FatigueOn March 2, 2008, jihadist websites posted a new 188-page book by
Al-Qaeda deputy leader Ayman Al-Zawahiri. The book, titled A Treatise
Exonerating the Nation of the Pen and the Sword from the Blemish of
the Accusation of Weakness and Fatigue, is a polemical defense of
Al-Qaeda against its most prominent Islamist critic, the imprisoned
jihadist Sheikh Sayyed Imam Al-Sharif.
(For previous MEMRI reports on Sayyed Imam, see:
http://memri.org/bin/articles.cgi?Page=archives&Area=sd&ID=SP178507,
December 14, 2007, and
http://www.memri.org/bin/articles.cgi?Page=archives&Area=sd&ID=SP182608,
January 25, 2008.)Sayyed Imam is one of Al-Zawahiri’s oldest associates in the jihad
movement and is considered one of jihadism’s most influential
scholars. He is the author of a shari’a guide to jihad that was used
in training camps in Afghanistan. The central argument of his recently
published Document of Right Guidance for Jihad Activity in Egypt and
the World is that jihad should only be undertaken when there is
ability to do so, and that Islamist groups today cannot be considered
to be in a state of ability. It is to this argument that the title of
Al-Zawahiri’s book refers. The Treatise Exonerating the Nation is of great importance for two
reasons. First, it is, in effect, an official statement of Al-Qaeda’s
positions and of the Islamic legal justifications it provides for its
activities.Second, Al-Qaeda’s decision to publish such a work is strong evidence
that it is deeply worried that radical Islamists could be influenced
by Sayyed Imam and abandon the jihad.(1) Al-Zawahiri’s Treatise is
actually a sharp about-face for Al-Qaeda; up until this point, it had
studiously ignored the substantive arguments put forward by Sayyed
Imam, and had simply asserted that the Egyptian security services had
tortured Imam into writing the book, and that it thus did not merit
serious discussion.(2) Hence, the Treatise is a tacit admission that
Al-Qaeda is facing an unprecedented ideological challenge. Following is a full translation of the table of contents of Ayman
Al-Zawahiri’s new book. (Al-Zawahiri’s Treatise Exonerating the Nation
is abridged in the table of contents to Treatise, and Sayyed Imam’s
Document of Right Guidance is abridged to Document; “the author”
always refers to the author of the Document of Right Guidance.)

Endnotes:
(1) It should be noted that jihad in this context refers to terror
attacks in the West and fighting against the regimes in Muslim
countries; Sayyed Imam is not opposed to fighting in Afghanistan,
Iraq, and Palestine.
(2) Some such discussion was however undertaken by Al-Qaeda
supporters, such as the London-based Islamist Hani Al-Siba’i.

Practical Reasons that Call for Not Clashing with the Egyptian

World War III or IV ?
Below: as quoted from http://www.threeworldwars.com/index.html  opinions belong to the author. The letter is looked upon by Masons as a forgery, the knowledgeable ones attempt to accredit the letter to William Guy Carr. The letter was already debunked in 1897 by Freemasons and was attributed as being the work of a certain Mr Leo Taxil.
However, if the Mazzini letter were indeed a forgery by Leo Taxil, in 1897 how could such details emerge previous to World Wars I and II? Surely William Guy Carr was not the author. Evidently the aim of World War III or IV, would be to elect a World King as well described in the Protocols of the Elders of Zion, see http://www.biblebelievers.org.au/przion1.htm - a book also debunked by Masonic websites as being the fictitious work of a certain Nilus. Indeed a fictitious work using Masonic sources as admitted by SA Nilus himself.

Pike’s Letter to Mazzini

It is a commonly believed fallacy that for a short time, the Pike letter to Mazzini was on display in the British Museum Library in London, and it was copied by William Guy Carr, former Intelligence Officer in the Royal Canadian Navy.  The British Library has confirmed in writing to me that such a document has never been in their possession.  Furthermore, in Carr’s book, Satan, Prince of this World, Carr includes the following footnote: “The Keeper of Manuscripts recently informed the author that this letter is NOT catalogued in the British Museum Library.  It seems strange that a man of Cardinal Rodriguez’s knowledge should have said that it WAS in 1925″.It appears that Carr learned about this letter from Cardinal Caro y Rodriguez of Santiago, Chile, who wrote The Mystery of Freemasonry UnveiledTo date, no conclusive proof exists to show that this letter was ever written.  Nevertheless, the letter is widely quoted and the topic of much discussion.Following are apparently extracts of the letter, showing how Three World Wars have been planned for many generations.“The First World War must be brought about in order to permit the Illuminati to overthrow the power of the Czars in Russia and of making that country a fortress of atheistic Communism. The divergences caused by the “agentur” (agents) of the Illuminati between the British and Germanic Empires will be used to foment this war. At the end of the war, Communism will be built and used in order to destroy the other governments and in order to weaken the religions.” 2Students of history will recognize that the political alliances of England on one side and Germany on the other, forged between 1871 and 1898 by Otto von Bismarck, co-conspirator of Albert Pike, were instrumental in bringing about the First World War. “The Second World War must be fomented by taking advantage of the differences between the Fascists and the political Zionists. This war must be brought about so that Nazism is destroyed and that the political Zionism be strong enough to institute a sovereign state of Israel in Palestine. During the Second World War, International Communism must become strong enough in order to balance Christendom, which would be then restrained and held in check until the time when we would need it for the final social cataclysm.” 3 After this Second World War, Communism was made strong enough to begin taking over weaker governments. In 1945, at the Potsdam Conference between Truman, Churchill, and Stalin, a large portion of Europe was simply handed over to Russia, and on the other side of the world, the aftermath of the war with Japan helped to sweep the tide of Communism into China.   (Readers who argue that the terms Nazism and Zionism were not known in 1871 should remember that the Illuminati invented both these movements.  In addition, Communism as an ideology, and as a coined phrase, originates in France during the Revolution.  In 1785, Restif coined the phrase four years before revolution broke out.  Restif and Babeuf, in turn, were influenced by Rousseau – as was the most famous conspirator of them all, Adam Weishaupt.)“The Third World War must be fomented by taking advantage of the differences caused by the “agentur” of the “Illuminati” between the political Zionists and the leaders of Islamic World. The war must be conducted in such a way that Islam (the Moslem Arabic World) and political Zionism (the State of Israel) mutually destroy each other. Meanwhile the other nations, once more divided on this issue will be constrained to fight to the point of complete physical, moral, spiritual and economical exhaustion…We shall unleash the Nihilists and the atheists, and we shall provoke a formidable social cataclysm which in all its horror will show clearly to the nations the effect of absolute atheism, origin of savagery and of the most bloody turmoil. Then everywhere, the citizens, obliged to defend themselves against the world minority of revolutionaries, will exterminate those destroyers of civilization, and the multitude, disillusioned with Christianity, whose deistic spirits will from that moment be without compass or direction, anxious for an ideal, but without knowing where to render its adoration, will receive the true light through the universal manifestation of the pure doctrine of Lucifer, brought finally out in the public view. This manifestation will result from the general reactionary movement which will follow the destruction of Christianity and atheism, both conquered and exterminated at the same time.” 4 Since the terrorist attacks of Sept 11, 2001, world events, and in particular in the Middle East, show a growing unrest and instability between Modern Zionism and the Arabic World. This is completely in line with the call for a Third World War to be fought between the two, and their allies on both sides. This Third World War is still to come, and recent events show us that it is not far off.

Albert Pike received a vision which he described in a letter to Mazzini, dated August 15, 1871. This letter graphically outlined plans for three world wars that were seen as necessary to bring about the One World Order. Today we can only but marvel !

Hamas Cleric Predicts ‘Rome Will Be Conquered by Islam’

Monday, April 14, 2008

A sermon last Friday by a prominent Muslim cleric and Hamas member of the Palestinian parliament openly declared that “the capital of the Catholics, or the Crusader capital,” would soon be conquered by Islam.
The fiery sermon, delivered by Yunis al-Astal and aired on Hamas’ Al-Aqsa TV, predicted that Rome would become “an advanced post for the Islamic conquests, which will spread though Europe in its entirety, and then will turn to the two Americas, even Eastern Europe.”
“Allah has chosen you for Himself and for His religion,” al-Astal preached, “so that you will serve as the engine pulling this nation to the phase of succession, security and consolidation of power, and even to conquests through da’wa and military conquests of the capitals of the entire world.
“Very soon, Allah willing, Rome will be conquered, just like Constantinople was, as was prophesized by our prophet Muhammad,” he added.
Al-Astal last June preached how it was the duty of Palestinian women to martyr themselves by becoming homicide bombers.

“The most exalted form of jihad is fighting for the sake of Allah, which means sacrificing one’s soul by fighting the enemies head-on, even if it leads to martyrdom,” he said in a June 23, 2007 interview.

“When jihad becomes an individual duty, it applies to women too, because women do not differ from men when it comes to individual duties,” he said, calling Jews “the brothers of apes and pigs” who should “taste the bitterness of death.”

Friday’s rant repeated that theme: “Today, Rome is the capital of the Catholics, or the Crusader capital, which has declared its hostility to Islam, and has planted the brothers of apes and pigs in Palestine in order to prevent the reawakening of Islam.

“I believe that our children, or our grandchildren, will inherit our jihad and our sacrifices, and, Allah willing, the commanders of the conquest will come from among them.

“Today, we instill these good tidings in their souls – and by means of the mosques and the Koran books, and the history of our Prophets, his companions, and the great leaders, we prepare them for the mission of saving humanity from the hellfire at whose brink they stand.”
