His name is: ADONAI!

1 Hannah then prayed as follows:

My heart exults in Adonai, in my God is my strength lifted up, my mouth derides my foes, for I rejoice in your deliverance.

2 There is no Holy One like Adonai, (indeed, there is none but you) no Rock like our God.

3 Do not keep talking so proudly, let no arrogance come from your mouth, for Adonai is a wise God, his to weigh up deeds.

4 The bow of the mighty has been broken but those who were tottering are now braced with strength.

5 The full fed are hiring themselves out for bread but the hungry need labour no more; the barren woman bears sevenfold but the mother of many is left desolate.

Adonai gives death and life, brings down to Sheol and draws up;

Adonai makes poor and rich, he humbles and also exalts.

8 He raises the poor from the dust, he lifts the needy from the dunghill to give them a place with princes, to assign them a seat of honour; for to Adonai belong the pillars of the earth, on these he has poised the world.

9 He safeguards the steps of his faithful but the wicked vanish in darkness (for human strength can win no victories).
10 Adonai, his enemies are shattered, the Most High thunders in the heavens. Adonai judges the ends of the earth, he endows his king with power, he raises up the strength of his Anointed.

 46 And Mary said:

 My soul proclaims the greatness of the Lord

47 and my spirit rejoices in God my Saviour;

48 because he has looked upon the humiliation of his servant. Yes, from now onwards all generations will call me blessed,

49 for the Almighty has done great things for me. Holy is his name,

50 and his faithful love extends age after age to those who fear him.

51 He has used the power of his arm, he has routed the arrogant of heart.

52 He has pulled down princes from their thrones and raised high the lowly.

53 He has filled the starving with good things, sent the rich away empty.

54 He has come to the help of Israel his servant, mindful of his faithful love
55 -according to the promise he made to our ancestors-of his mercy to Abraham and to his descendants for ever.

Mary is like a morning star because the most deep mysteries of faith have been incarnated in her in the person of God’s Son. She is like this morning, guiding light that disperses darkness of the night and help us, poor sinners, to reach eternal happiness of beatific vision. That is why St Bernard says that it is well justified to compare Mary to morning star giving light to the whole world. Under this light, virtues bloom but vices die. Mary’s life was very edifying and imitating her will be always be spiritually proficient. She possessed the key of understanding mysteries of faith and that was the result of unity with God and her purity. We know from mystical theology, that God reveals Himself to those who are truly pious and pure. The Apostle says: “But the sensual man perceiveth not these things that are of the Spirit of God; for it is foolishness to him, and he cannot understand ” (1 Cor 2:14). Following Our Lady is like following shining star that leads straight into happiness, just like St Bernard said: “Look at the star, but invoke Mary!”
